The efforts to ensure the integration of Traditional and complementary medicine into the healthcare system in an evidence-based, reliable and effective way, in line with the WHO 2014 - 2023 Strategy for Traditional Medicine, have been completed within the framework of the 2013 - 2017 Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Health and the 10th Development Plan of the Republic of Turkey.

Anatolia has been home to many ancient civilizations throughout the centuries. This historical profoundness has brought about a remarkable treasure of knowledge. In Anatolia, which has been home to important medical discoveries and medical practices, many medical scientists, including Hippocrate, Galen, Avicenna, Dioscorides, Ibn-al Baytar, and Merkez Efendi, have contributed to the rise and development of medicine.

Our country, which is a bridge between the Eastern and Western Cultures, will host the “1st International Traditional and Complementary Medicine Congress” on 19 - 22 April 2018, in a cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the University of Healthcare Sciences.

The congress and exhibition, which has the motto of “In the Cradle of Civilizations; Medicine in Anatolia”, will be an opportunity for a revisit to natural healing, strong cooperations, accrediation and professionalization of institutions, employment, saving, trust, building vision, international positioning, creating a supply for public demand, accurate information, social awareness, public trust and motivation, improved health literary, patient’s safety, building diversity and product vision, quality and competition. Our activities will continue in line with the targets that have been set for the organization of the congress and exhibition.
